If you encounter the following error message when launching the system:
"You have installed Safe Exam Browser (SEB), but it isn't configured yet."
This error usually indicates that Safe Exam Browser does not have permission to access your Downloads folder, preventing it from loading the exam configuration. Please follow these steps based on your macOS version:
macOS Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia (and newer):
- Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings.
- In the sidebar, select Privacy & Security.
- In the main list, scroll down and click on Files and Folders.
- Locate Safe Exam Browser in the list of applications.
- Click the arrow next to the app name and ensure the toggle for Downloads Folder is turned ON (Blue).
macOS Monterey (and older):
- Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Go to Security & Privacy.
- Click the Privacy tab at the top.
- In the left sidebar, select Files and Folders.
- On the right, find Safe Exam Browser and check the box for the Downloads folder.
After updating these settings, try opening the exam again.
