When entering, the exam does not load. Instead:
- The Mac System Settings window opens automatically.
- The software enters a "loop": the settings window reopens every time you close it.
- The computer may be "stuck" .
Pre-check: Is this guide for you?
This issue occurs on Macs where cloud sync software (like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive) has replaced original folders with shortcuts (Aliases).
How to verify:
- Open Finder.
- Click Go -> Home (or press Command + Shift + H).
- Look at the Downloads folder: If there is a small shortcut arrow on it, proceed to the solution below.
Solution: Restore Local Downloads Folder
You must create a "real" local folder for SEB to function. This will not delete your existing files.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Rename the shortcut: Right-click the existing Downloads alias in your Home folder, select Rename, and change it to Downloads_Old.
- Create a new folder: Right-click an empty area in the same window, select New Folder, and name it exactly:
Downloads. - Finish: Launch the exam again.
Tip: We recommend restarting your Mac after creating the new folder.
